Algebra Ace
What students practice
Students practice solving equations by keeping a beam balance level, applying a chosen move to both sides of an equation until the unknown x stands alone, working with one-step equations, two-step equations, or both, at a teacher-set number size.
How to play
Players use the left and right arrow keys and enter, or press 1 through 5, to pick a move that is applied to both pans of the balance at once. Letting the strain bar empty jettisons the crate, and three jettisons ends the shift. A wrong move has the beam show the correct move before that equation returns later.
Teacher Setup
Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which equation types are in play (one-step, two-step, or all), the number size, the speed, and whether the correct move is shown after a miss. The end-of-shift report includes a printable list of equations to practice.
