City Scanner
What students practice
Students practice locating world cities on a map using the city name and its country, with fewer clues asking students to also know the country.
How to play
Players move a scanner light over a dark map with the arrow keys until the named city's lights appear, then hold still to lock it in. The city's signal fades over time, and letting it fade or locking the wrong city costs one of three shields; a miss shows the right city before it is asked again later.
Teacher Setup
Teacher Setup lets a teacher limit play to the whole world, the Americas, or Europe, Africa, and Asia, reduce the clue shown on the panel, set the speed, and choose whether a miss reveals the city. A printable student report has students write each city's country and find it on a map.
