Timezone Trek

What students practice

Students practice reading time zones on a world map and adding or subtracting hours when traveling east or west, using standard time without daylight saving.

How to play

A passenger's ticket gives a time; players press the right arrow key to hop east, which adds an hour, or the left arrow key to hop west, which subtracts an hour, then press LAND (Space or Enter) over the right zone. Running out of fuel three times ends the trek, and a wrong landing has the shuttle fly the correct way while counting the hours before that trip comes back later.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher set how many hours each trip covers, choose question types, hide the shuttle's clock so students count zones themselves, set the speed, and choose whether a miss reveals the answer. A printable student report lists trips to practice.
