Coin Comet

What students practice

Students practice counting money, adding up a handful of coins carried by a falling comet and locating the total on a number line whose range and step size a teacher sets; which coins appear is also configurable.

How to play

Players use the left and right arrow keys to slide a grapple along the money line and press the space bar to fire at the mark where the total lands. Reeling in five comets in a row earns a combo bonus; letting three comets reach the line ends the mission. A miss has the machine count the coins and show the correct mark before that pile is asked again later.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher set the range and step size of the money line, which coins are in play, what the comet asks for, the speed, and whether the answer is shown after a miss. The end-of-mission report includes a printable list of skills to practice.
