Prime Patrol

What students practice

Students practice identifying prime numbers and breaking numbers down into their prime factors, using a chosen set of prime splitters (2 and 3, up through 2, 3, 5, 7) and a teacher-set largest number.

How to play

Players press 2, 3, 5, or 7 to fire that prime splitter at a drifting number core, splitting it and logging the prime if it divides evenly, and press space to tag a core that is already prime. The up and down arrows pick which belt to aim at. Letting three cores reach the gate ends the patrol, and a wrong split stops the belts to show the correct factors before that number returns later.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which prime splitters are on the rack, the largest core number, how often a core arrives already prime, the speed, and whether the answer is shown after a miss. The end-of-patrol report includes a printable list of numbers to practice.
