Peak Probe

GeographyWorld MountainsGrades 3–6Keyboard

What students practice

Students practice facts about the world's mountain ranges and tallest peaks, plus mountain vocabulary such as summit, glacier, and plateau.

How to play

A question appears above four camps on a mountainside; players use the arrow keys (or W and S) to fly a probe, press Space to drill, or press 1 through 4 to fly straight to a camp. A storm swallows camps from the top, so letting it reach the right answer costs one of three shields, and a miss shows the answer before it is asked again.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose question sets for mountain ranges by continent, the tallest peaks and their locations, or mountain vocabulary, set the speed, and choose whether a miss reveals the answer. A printable student report lists skills to practice.
