Puzzle Port

Logic and ReasoningOrder CluesGrades 3–6Keyboard

What students practice

Students practice order and position logical reasoning, docking each ship into the one bay that satisfies every clue on the board, including clues naming a bay number, left/right position, being next to another ship, or being at an end, with harder rounds adding clues that rule a position out (such as one ship not being next to another).

How to play

Players press a ship's first letter to pick it, 1 through 4 to dock it in a bay, Backspace to lift it back out, and Enter to check the dock once every bay is full. A wrong dock, or a docking window that closes, shows the correct order and the clue that was broken; three closed windows ends the mission, though a failed puzzle always returns for another try.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which clue types are in play (starting with bay numbers and left/right, adding next-to and ends clues, and optional not-clues), how many ships are in each puzzle, and the speed. The end-of-mission report includes a printable list of skills to practice, asking students to re-read and draw out the clues.
