Quick Draw
What students practice
Students practice estimating sums, differences, and products by rounding each number before calculating, such as rounding 347 and 218 to the nearest hundred and adding 300 and 200.
How to play
A problem and a rounding instruction appear; players press the left and right arrow keys to spin a six-chamber cylinder to the right estimate, then press Space, or the FIRE button, before time runs out, with a fast shot scoring extra and five in a row building a combo. A wrong or slow answer shows how to estimate it correctly before that problem returns, and three hits end the showdown.
Teacher Setup
Teacher Setup lets a teacher set rounding for Grade 3, Grade 4, or Grade 5-6, and include halfway numbers such as 45 rounding to 50, plus set the speed and choose whether a miss reveals the answer. A printable student report lists estimates to practice.
