Cell City

ScienceOrganellesGrades 3–6Keyboard

What students practice

Students practice naming cell organelles and their jobs, using either science wording or everyday city comparisons such as the powerhouse or the post office, across basics or all 16 organelles including plant-only ones.

How to play

A ticket names a job while a crane carrying a cargo pod moves on its own; players press the left and right arrow keys to turn the crane and press Space to drop the pod, aiming ahead since it keeps the crane's sideways speed. Letting the shift clock run out, or delivering to the wrong building, costs one of three shields, and a miss shows the answer before it is asked again.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose all 16 organelles, basics plus plant organelles, or basics only, switch tickets between science job wording and city-job wording, set a relaxed or faster shift clock, and choose whether a miss reveals the answer. A printable student report lists organelles to practice.
