Letter Launch

What students practice

Students practice putting words in alphabetical order, judging where a carried word belongs among words already docked on an A-to-Z shelf, with lists ranging from everyday and school words to longer words, and an option that forces comparing beyond the first letter.

How to play

Players hold the space bar to build thrust while an aim marker slides along the shelf, releasing when it sits over the correct berth. Docking five in a row earns a combo bonus; a capsule left waiting too long burns a shield, and three lost shields ends the mission. A wrong berth has the shelf show where the word belongs before it returns later.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which word lists are in play, how close together words sit on the docking shelf, whether words share a first letter (forcing a second- and third-letter comparison), the speed, and whether the answer is shown after a miss. The end-of-mission report includes a printable list of words to practice.
