Synonym Sweep

What students practice

Students practice synonyms and antonyms, moving a collector between five lanes to sweep up every word that means the same as a target word, with word sets selectable by grade band; a clear sweep mode switches the same sets to finding opposites instead.

How to play

Players use the arrow keys, or W and S, to move the collector between lanes, sweeping whatever lane the beam is on; catching a non-matching word costs a shield. Sweeping all three matches earns a clean sweep bonus and patches a shield; losing three shields ends the mission. A miss has the machine show the correct words before that target returns later.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which word sets are in play, whether the round is set to clear sweep for opposites, the speed, and whether the answer is shown after a miss. The end-of-mission report includes a printable list of words to practice.
