What students practice

Students practice recognizing rhyming words and word families, judging whether two lane-numbered runners' words rhyme by sound rather than spelling (light and kite rhyme, eight and light do not), with rhyme sets selectable by grade band.

How to play

Players press 1 through 6 to call two lane numbers and pass the baton between them when their words rhyme; five correct pairs in a row earn a combo bonus. Letting a runner finish while its rhyming partner is still out costs a baton, and losing three ends the race. A wrong call has the track show the correct rhyme before those words return later.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which rhyme sets are in play, the pace (how many runners are on the track, not their speed), and whether the rhyme is shown after a miss. The end-of-race report includes a printable list of rhymes to practice.
