Sight Word Sprint
What students practice
Students practice high-frequency sight word fluency, tagging the exact word posted at the top as it sprints along a rail among several near-identical look-alike words, with word groups selectable by grade band and the number of words on the rail adjustable.
How to play
Players press the space bar while the posted word is inside the scanner gate, letting non-matching words pass (which also scores). Tagging the wrong word overheats the scanner for a moment, and letting the posted word escape costs a shield; three shields ends the sprint. Tagging five in a row earns a combo bonus. A miss has the rail show the correct word before it returns later.
Teacher Setup
Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which word groups are in play, how many words appear on the rail at once, the speed, and whether the word is shown after a miss. The end-of-sprint report includes a printable list of words to practice.
