Homophone Hangar
What students practice
Students practice telling homophones apart by meaning in context, landing a word such as hare or hair into the sentence bay whose gap needs that exact spelling, with word sets selectable from a grade 3 core list to tricky-only pairs.
How to play
Players use the left and right arrow keys to pick a plane and the up and down arrows to pick a bay, pressing enter to land it, or press a number key to land straight into a bay. Letting a bay's hold-clamp timer run out costs a clamp, and three lost clamps ends the shift; landing five in a row earns a combo bonus. A wrong landing has the hangar show the sentence before that word returns later.
Teacher Setup
Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which word sets are in play, how many bays are open at once, the speed, and whether the sentence is shown after a miss. The end-of-shift report includes a printable list of words to practice.
