Spell Shield
What students practice
Students practice spelling words that are missing one letter, choosing from a ring of eight letters to complete each word; word lists can be mixed, or a teacher can add a custom word list with the tested letter marked in square brackets.
How to play
Players use the left and right arrow keys, or A and D, to spin the letter ring, or type a letter to jump straight to it, pressing the space bar to fire once the correct letter is lined up (firing early before the word arrives scores bonus points). Five correct in a row earns a combo; three wrong letters brings the shield down. A miss has the machine show the correct word before it returns later.
Teacher Setup
Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which word lists are in play, add a custom spelling focus list of their own words, the speed, and whether the word is shown after a miss. The end-of-run report includes a printable list of words to practice.
