Shape Satellite
What students practice
Students practice naming and building 2D shapes and their properties, following orders that range from naming basic shapes to identifying quadrilaterals to finding area, using a grid where every square is one square unit.
How to play
Players use the arrow keys to fly the satellite and the space bar to drop a marker at each corner, with backspace removing the last marker; landing back on the first marker closes the shape, which is checked against the order right away. Building the wrong shape, or letting an order's timer run out, has the machine draw a correct shape before asking for it again later.
Teacher Setup
Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose which shape orders are in play, by grade band from shape names through quadrilaterals to area, the speed, and whether the answer is shown after a miss. The end-of-survey report includes a printable list of shapes to practice.
