Shape Shifter

What students practice

Students practice identifying 2D shape properties, reshaping a block to match an order for a triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon, or a shape with up to 8 sides, including whether its sides are equal or unequal.

How to play

Players press number keys 3 through 8 to change a block's number of sides, press R for equal or unequal sides, and use the left and right arrow keys to choose which block to work on, locking it in the instant it matches its order. A wrong shape, or one that reaches the press unfinished, jams the line and shows the correct answer, and that order returns later.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose the kinds of orders by grade level and limit the shapes in play to up to 6 sides, plus speed and whether the answer is shown after a miss; the end screen offers a printable student report listing the shapes to practice.
