Tile Twister
What students practice
Students practice addition by restoring a magic square, where every row, column, and diagonal must add up to the same magic sum, reasoning about which lines are already correct to find the twisted corner.
How to play
Players press Q, W, A, or S, or number keys 1 through 4, to spin the four tiles at a grid corner a quarter turn clockwise, using lines that already glow green to narrow down the twisted corner, and press Z to undo a twist, with fewer twists earning a bonus. Letting a fuse seal the door shows the needed twist, and that puzzle returns later; three sealed vaults end the mission.
Teacher Setup
Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose the numbers on the tiles, which lines must add up, and whether line sums are shown or hidden so students add them mentally, plus the speed; the end screen offers a printable student report listing the skills to practice.
