What students practice

Students practice states of matter, using each sample's real measured melting and boiling points to decide whether it should be a solid, liquid, or gas, or to read a specific temperature off a scale.

How to play

A sample pod shows its melting and boiling points; players press the up and down arrow keys (or the COOLER and HOTTER buttons) to slide a heat dial and press Space to lock in the chamber once it matches the pod's card. Letting a pod reach the vent costs one of three shields, and a miss stops the belt to show the science before that sample comes back later.

Teacher Setup

Teacher Setup lets a teacher choose All Four sample sets, Water and Kitchen, or Cold Gases, switch between making a state and setting a temperature, hide the dial's color coding so students read the scale themselves, and choose whether a miss reveals the answer. A printable student report lists skills to practice.
